Dr Deepak Gupta is currently employed at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences as a consultant and faculty for neurosurgery. He graduated from University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 1993 and subsequently finished his Masters in General surgery and then superspecialisation degree in Neurosurgery from AIIMS, Delhi in 2004.
He did his pediatric neurosurgery training in Rome, Italy and initial research on various means of intratumoral therapies for high-grade gliomas (brain tumors).
Dr Gupta is presently working on FEA analysis of craniovertebral junction and aiming to develop low cost indigenous craniovertebral junction implants, blunt blast injuries in collaboration with IIT Delhi and US Army.
He has over 100 research peer reviewed publications, chapters in books, besides being invited faculty at various international /national fronts on vast topics of neurosurgery ranging from neurotrauma, complex spine, paediatric neurosurgery, skull base neurosurgery and neurocritical care.
Dr Gupta is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support and AO Spine and AO Neuro Faculty. He has over 10 international NIH funded studies and various intramural /extramural grants to his credit. He is one of the eminent neurosurgeons from India representing the country on global front in advanced neurotrauma care and closely working with NIH and European high commissions on recent advances in neurotrauma care and guidelines.
Dr Gupta works as Trauma Care Advisor for Neuro Surgery & Rehabilitation Prescription Development for Intervention-4.
